Does my child need to prepare for the assessment?
No — and please don't. The assessment works best when it shows us how your child genuinely works: where they're confident, where they hesitate, and how they think through something unfamiliar. It's short, friendly, and doesn't feel like a test.
Do I stay during the assessment?
You're welcome to stay in the centre. Your child works with an educator while you wait, and then we sit down with you one-on-one to talk through what we found and what we'd recommend.
What if the assessment shows my child doesn't need tutoring?
Then we'll tell you exactly that. An honest recommendation is the whole point — some families leave with reassurance and a few suggestions for home, and come back a year later when things change. No pressure, ever.
How is this different from how school teaches?
School teaches to the year level; Lynn's teaches to your child. We follow the same Victorian and Australian curricula, but your child's programme is pitched precisely where they need to grow next — sometimes ahead of class, sometimes behind, sometimes approaching the same topic from a different angle.
How much homework is there?
Most students complete a short piece of Lynn's work on four days a week at home, in addition to their weekly class. The load adjusts up or down to suit your child, it only ever covers material they've already practised in class, and we mark every piece when it comes back.
When do classes run?
Centres run during school terms, in one-hour sessions — typically three per day (for example 4–5pm, 5–6pm and 6–7pm). Different centres operate on different days; check your centre's page for its days and times.
