From first visit to visible progress

Three steps. The first one is free.

Every Lynn's student starts the same way: we learn your child before we teach them. Here's exactly what happens, from the first booking to the first “I can do this.”

Step 1 · Free

The assessment.

Half an hour per subject, in centre, with a qualified educator. A short, friendly level-check that shows us where your child is confident, where they're stuck, and how they think — it doesn't feel like a test. Then a one-on-one debrief with you about what we found and what we'd honestly recommend.

Step 2 · Week one

The personalised programme.

We design your child's programme from the assessment — pitched at their ability, not just their year level, and aligned to the Victorian and Australian curricula. Foundations rebuilt where there are gaps; extension where they're ready for more. Reviewed and adjusted every term as they grow.

Step 3 · Every week

Classes, homework, marked work.

One hour per subject per week in centre: corrections first (self-fixes and taught-fixes), then new work, with one-on-one help whenever it's needed. Short homework on four days a week — only ever on practised material — and every single piece comes back marked. By us, not you.

What you can expect

Confidence. Concentration. Ability. In that order.

As your child settles into the programme, you'll notice growing concentration, confidence and independent study skills — all of which lead to academic improvement. The pace varies from child to child, but many parents notice a change within the first two weeks, and considerable progress within the first two months. Many long-term students go on to complete work well above their grade level. Your centre manager is always available for an update chat — please get in touch any time you'd like to discuss your child's progress.

Common questions

How-it-works questions.

Does my child need to prepare for the assessment?

No — and please don't. The assessment works best when it shows us how your child genuinely works: where they're confident, where they hesitate, and how they think through something unfamiliar. It's short, friendly, and doesn't feel like a test.

Do I stay during the assessment?

You're welcome to stay in the centre. Your child works with an educator while you wait, and then we sit down with you one-on-one to talk through what we found and what we'd recommend.

What if the assessment shows my child doesn't need tutoring?

Then we'll tell you exactly that. An honest recommendation is the whole point — some families leave with reassurance and a few suggestions for home, and come back a year later when things change. No pressure, ever.

How is this different from how school teaches?

School teaches to the year level; Lynn's teaches to your child. We follow the same Victorian and Australian curricula, but your child's programme is pitched precisely where they need to grow next — sometimes ahead of class, sometimes behind, sometimes approaching the same topic from a different angle.

How much homework is there?

Most students complete a short piece of Lynn's work on four days a week at home, in addition to their weekly class. The load adjusts up or down to suit your child, it only ever covers material they've already practised in class, and we mark every piece when it comes back.

When do classes run?

Centres run during school terms, in one-hour sessions — typically three per day (for example 4–5pm, 5–6pm and 6–7pm). Different centres operate on different days; check your centre's page for its days and times.
