Why families choose Lynn's

Three things you'll notice in the first month.

The right tutoring centre answers the three questions every parent quietly carries when they walk in the door. Here's how we answer ours.

We learn your child first. Then we teach them.

Every new student begins with a free assessment in centre: half an hour per subject, not a worksheet handed to a stranger. We figure out where they're confident, where they're stuck, and how they think. Then we build the programme around your child — not the other way around.

You'll always know how they're tracking.

Every piece of work comes back marked, every week. A direct line to the centre manager. Real progress against the Victorian and Australian curricula. No vague reassurances — you'll see the work and the wins as they happen.

A real room. A real team. Just down the road.

Lynn's isn't a Zoom window or a worksheet app. Real classrooms, real educators, and people who recognise your child by name. Thirty years running this way, updating the programme every year so your child works on today's curriculum, not yesterday's.

Inside a Lynn's class

How a Lynn's class actually works.

Every session has two parts. Both are designed to build confidence as much as capability — and they're the reason parents tell us their kids stop dragging their feet on schoolwork.

1 Corrections

Last week's work, marked and returned.

Your child reviews what they got right and what they didn't, with their educator beside them when needed.

  • Self-fixes: small slips your child corrects on their own. This is where the real learning — and the quiet confidence — takes hold.
  • Taught-fixes: anything trickier. An educator works one-on-one until your child has the concept and the confidence to apply it.
2 New work

Fresh material, built around your child.

Your child moves on to the next piece of their personalised programme: part in class, part as homework.

  • Educators move around the classroom, ready when a new concept lands, when something looks wrong, or when your child has a question.
  • Homework only ever covers material your child has already practised, so they can complete it independently.
  • Every piece comes back marked. By us, not you.

Parent & student voices

Real words from Lynn's families.

I can't believe the improvement my child has made in just 2 weeks!
Fiona · Parent
My daughter has been coming to Lynn's Learning for 3 years. Last year she sat for four scholarships and was awarded scholarships to all four schools! Lynn's Learning program definitely works.
Joy · Parent
Thank you so much! My son now comes home from school smiling and telling me about all the things he has learnt. Only a few months ago he would cry about having to go to school and I didn't know what to do about it. Thank goodness I found you!

Common questions

What parents usually want to know.

What happens at the free assessment?

A short level-check with your child in the subject or subjects you're considering, then a one-on-one chat with you about what we'd recommend. Half an hour per subject, an hour if you're considering both maths and English. No pressure, no obligation, no cost.

How much does it cost?

A one-off $40 enrolment fee covers your child's personalised programme design and welcome pack. Then it's $40 per subject per week — class time, all worksheets, weekly homework and all marking included. The Selective & Scholarship programme is $120 per week with up to three hours of class time and practice tests.

How long is each class?

Each subject runs as a one-hour weekly session. If your child does both maths and English, they'll typically attend two back-to-back sessions — for example 4–6pm or 5–7pm.

What year levels do you teach?

Foundation to Year 10 across maths and English. Selective and scholarship coaching runs from Years 5 to 8.

How quickly will I see results?

Many parents notice a change within the first two weeks: calmer homework time, growing concentration, the quiet confidence of "I tried." Considerable academic progress usually shows in the first two months, and many long-term students go on to complete work well above their grade level.

Do you mark the homework yourself?

Yes. Every piece comes back marked by us — you never need to assist or mark anything at home. A blank answer teaches us nothing; an honest attempt shows us how your child is thinking so we can explain the right approach in a way that lands.

Do you tutor online?

No — Lynn's is in-centre only. Real classrooms with real educators get better outcomes than screens, especially for younger learners and selective preparation, where the work needs structure, supervision and one-on-one help when something's not landing.

What if my child misses a class?

For a single missed class, contact your centre manager to arrange a make-up. For longer absences like family holidays, we ask for 14 days' written notice and can pause payments accordingly.
